Prof Michael Apple confirmed as speaker for Newcastle

We are delighted to confirm that Professor Michael Apple (University of Wisconsin) has agreed to speak at the ESRC seminar series in Newcastle. As most educationalists will already know, Prof Apple is the author of dozens of books in the fields of critical pedagogy, democratic education, education and power, and social justice. We are confident that his involvement with the Freedom to Learn Project will be invaluable.

The event, entitled ‘Assessment: the embodiment of power’ takes place on Friday 10 July, in Newcastle, UK (12-5pm).

Places are FREE for this event, but we are expecting to get booked up, so please make sure you don’t miss out – email C.M.McKinlay@hull.ac.uk now.
